Medicare Part D Rx plans

We do the research so you don’t have to!

Add prescription drug coverage to Original Medicare:

You can only get Part D through private insurance companies.

Each plan has its own formulary (drug list), and sets its own co-pays.

You can fill prescriptions at a local pharmacy or through a mail order pharmacy.

Enrollment is generally for the entire calendar year, with a chance to change annually.

New to Medicare?

Even if you don’t take prescription drugs now, you should consider getting Medicare drug coverage. Medicare drug coverage is optional and is offered to everyone with Medicare. If you decide not to get it when you’re first eligible, and you don’t have other creditable prescription drug coverage (like drug coverage from an employer or union) or get Extra Help, you’ll likely pay a late enrollment penalty if you join a plan later.

Already on Medicare?

Each year there is an Annual Enrollment Period from October 15th through December 07th that allows people to make a change to their Part D Rx coverage for the following year.  During this time we help people by making comparisons on the Medicare Plan Finder (medicare planfinder).  Many clients go there themselves to explore plans but contact us if they need to change so we can answer questions and complete a smooth transition.

Of course just because you can change each year, doesn’t mean you have to.  If you are satisfied with the changes that your plan is making, then you don’t have to sign back up for it.  It will automatically renew for the following year.
